Working with kids is inspiring, rewarding, and vital to a healthy, caring community. Victory is not defined by the scoreline, but by teamwork, shared sacrifice, pride, achievement — and fun!

Supporting young journalists — most recently an Aragon High School student who's an incoming freshman in the Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University — reflects my commitment to giving back.

It's an extension of my writing — storytelling through compelling images. The most recent example is a series of photos documenting the coronavirus and life in the Bay Area. Submitted to the 2020 de Young Museum's "Open Exhibition"

 My passion for skateboarding,  skiing, and motorcycling remains as vibrant as the day I discovered the invigorating mix of adrenaline and fresh air. Yep, that's me.

Sponsoring children with World Vision, donating to Smile Train, and volunteering at Glide Memorial Church reminds me how fortunate I am, and the importance of service. 

I love non-fiction, particularly a compelling biography. "The Greater Journey -- Americans In Paris" by David McCullough is my current literary companion. Just finished the inspiring "Boys In The Boat."
